Why Pursue Graduate Studies at Tokushima University?

With the rise of artificial intelligence, I have realized there is rising demand for skills such as logical thinking and problem-solving abilities to more effectively utilize AI. I felt that during my Master’s program, these skills were not fully developed, which led me to pursue a Ph.D. to further hone these abilities through the research process. I chose to continue my studies at Tokushima University Graduate School because it allows me to carry on with research that interests me, offers a system where I can receive feedback from experts across various fields, and provides the opportunity to apply for the Interdisciplinary Next-Generation Researcher Training Program, which might offer me financial support.

Research and Career: Shaping My Future

I am conducting research that focuses on using bowel sounds to non-invasively quantify the gastrointestinal condition. As I advance in my study of abdominal sounds, it is essential to review literature from fields beyond just bowel-sound-based abdominal acoustics researchto gain a broader perspective on my own research. By steadily building up my research activities in this manner, I can develop not only specialized expertise during my doctoral studies but also acquire versatile and powerful skills. I plan to leverage these skills and the  broad perspective I have gained in a research position within the private sector.

A place where you can pursue research that interests you while further enhancing your skills
A Message for Future Graduate Students

In the doctoral program, you will be required to produce a thesis, which means you must approach each day with care, dedicating time to experiments and literature review. Unlike the Master’s program, the Ph.D. journey demands that you take the initiative and conduct your research independently. However, this time is also an opportunity for personal growth and self-improvement. If you stay committed to these efforts, you will likely find yourself greatly transformed by the time you complete your doctoral studies. Remember to take breaks and find moments of relaxation as you navigate the Ph.D. program.

For a future where someone values my contributions.
