- Why Pursue Graduate Studies at Tokushima University?
The reason I decided to pursue my graduate studies at Tokushima University can be summed up in one simple phrase: “because research is fun.” The sense of accomplishment and joy I feel when I successfully create a new compound or synthesis method that has never existed before is incredibly rewarding. In the doctoral program, I have the opportunity to work on research topics that I set for myself. The chance to fully explore the research I am passionate about is a rare privilege unique to student life. The prospect of dedicating myself wholeheartedly to research is what made the Ph.D. program so appealing to me.

- Research and Career: Shaping My Future
I specialize in organic chemistry, with a focus on transition metal catalysts. These catalysts are widely used in everyday life, particularly for enhancing the efficiency of organic synthesis reactions. In the future, after securing a position in the industry, I aim to apply the experience I’ve gained in the laboratory to work in a way that contributes to society more directly. Specifically, I want to conduct research involving catalysts and work on synthesizing ultra-high-activity catalysts that are environmentally friendly.

- A Message for Future Graduate Students
In the doctoral program, with fewer classes, your days are primarily focused on research from morning until night. When you achieve significant results, you’ll participate in conferences and submit your work for publication. For me, conferences are an exciting break from the usual routine. They offer the chance to make new friends and discover intriguing research. International conferences are especially stimulating.
