- Why Pursue Graduate Studies at Tokushima University?
I chose Tokushima University for my PhD studies because of its esteemed Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty, especially the Hydraulics and Hydrology Laboratory, known for their involvement in both research and practical applications. The teachers here work closely with government organizations on policy-making initiatives and collaborate with private companies, bringing valuable industry experience into their teaching and research guidance. This unique combination of academic and real-world expertise gives students like me a well-rounded perspective on pressing hydrological and environmental challenges. Tokushima University’s commitment to innovation and practical solutions, paired with its advanced research facilities, creates an ideal environment to develop impactful solutions in water management and hydraulic engineering.

- Research and Career: Shaping My Future
While working in a remote part of Bangladesh, I observed the socio-economic impact of embankments first-hand, especially during the 2017 flood. In simple words, my research aims to find how to make cost-effective earthen embankments that will be stronger against more than one overtopping by water. Before starting my studies at Tokushima University I had about seven years of working experience and worked in some big construction projects in my country. I love to be a part of infrastructural projects and hope to go back to working in iconic civil engineering projects around the world, especially in sustainable river training projects.

to grow professionally
and personally.
